July 2008
July 20th — Fire Department Consignment Auction — doors open at 8am. Lawn and garden, household items, antiques, guns, cars, trucks and boats. Auctioneer is Jack Smith. Food available. Questions call 815-291-9392.

July 26^th – Meet your Illinois State Representative Candidate, Walter Johnson.  Doors open at 11:00 am.  Coffee and cookies will be served. 

August 2008
August 16th — Jack Smith Amish Auction — doors open 1pm. Amish quilts, furniture and craft items from dozens of Midwest region Amish communities will be available. Food available. Questions call 815-2919392.

August 21^st – Apple River United Methodist Church Ice Cream Social – doors open at 4:30pm. We will be serving a variety of picnic type foods including home made desserts.  Prices vary with carry outs available.  Questions please call Sharon at 815-594-2468.

October 2008
October 17th — Jack Smith Hunter Auction- doors open at 3pm Everything for the hunter and trapper including guns, trapping items, bows/arrows and clothing. Food available. Questions call 815-291-9392.

October 19^th – Lion’s Pancake Breakfast – doors open 8am-12:30pm serving pancakes, sausage, apple sauce, coffee and milk.  Sponsored by the Apple River Lion’s Club.

November 2008
November 1^st – Fire Department Pork Chop Dinner – details next month

November 4th — Presidential election voting. Doors open 6am-7pm

March 2009
